CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. – Kyle Thomas threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns and he ran for a 1-yard score in Albion College's 35-26 loss at Wabash College.

Thomas, the first-year quarterback who prepped at Walled Lake Western, hooked up with Collin Poore for a 3-yard touchdown pass that boosted Albion to a 10-7 lead early in the second quarter.

Wabash running back Ike James gashed Albion for 238 yards and three scores. His third TD of the day, a 10-yard run, gave the Little Giants a 28-10 lead with 5:49 left in the third quarter.

Albion produced a pair of second-half scores, Thomas' 1-yard run late in the third and his 40-yard pass to Marlon Martin in the fourth, but the Britons could not overcome the deficit.

Martin was Albion's leading receiver, hauling in four passes for 100 yards.

Defensive back Geordon Carter led the Albion defense with 19 tackles. Patrick Czarnecki and Jose Rodriguez added 10 tackles apiece. Michael Harvey collected an interception and Dallis Reynolds was credited with a fumble recovery.

Albion will make its home debut next Saturday in a 6 o'clock kickoff against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
