Baseball Britons drop games at Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. – A walk to the leadoff batter in the final inning proved costly, as Albion College was unable to hold a one-run lead in a 5-4 loss to 13th-ranked Adrian College in the first game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader at Nicolay Field.

Adrian completed the sweep of the Monday games with a 9-5 victory in game two.

Game One

Riley Stesiak drew a walk with the bases loaded, Kellan Huang drove in two runs with a single, and Justin Charron delivered a RBI double in Albion's four-run uprising in the fifth inning.

Adrian scored two times in the fifth and seventh innings to rally for the victory.

Charron collected two of Albion's six hits and he drew a walk.

Game Two

Huang hit a RBI double in the third and Riley Stesiak slammed a homerun to left field in the fourth to cut Albion's deficit to 3-2.

Adrian scored four times in the bottom of the third to pull away.

Jordyn Finney and Drew Olszewski collected two hits apiece for the Britons.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu.
