Baseball team falls in non-league action

ADRIAN, Mich. – Siena Heights University scored twice in the sixth and it added three runs in the seventh to complete a come-from-behind 12-10 victory over Albion College in a non-league baseball game Tuesday evening.

Sean Haddlesey and Kellan Huang drove in two runs each and Justin Charron slugged his first career homerun as Albion led, 8-1, after batting in the third.

Siena Heights rallied for five runs in the bottom half of the third to cut the margin to 8-6.

Although Huang and Drew Olszewski scored on a passed ball in the fifth, Albion was unable to hang on to the lead in the late innings.

Olszewski finished 3-for-6 with two runs scored and a RBI. Haddlesey and Huang added two hits apiece. Charron walked twice and Jordyn Finney drew four walks.

Albion, 14-9 overall, returns to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action Saturday with a 1 o'clock doubleheader at Kalamazoo College.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu.
