Albion sweeps four-game series from Calvin

KENTWOOD, Mich. - Albion College defeated Calvin College twice on Saturday to sweep the four game Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball series.

Game 1: Albion 10, Calvin 1

Bur and Kellan Huang led Albion with three hits apiece. Arszulowicz, Sean Haddlesey and Riley Stesiak all collected two hits.

The run support was enough for Mitch Shedlowsky (4-1) who threw his second complete game of the season. He allowed seven hits while striking out two.

Haddlesey hit single to send Dylan Perry home with the tying run with two out in the ninth and Perry hit a two-run triple and scored on a passed ball in the 10th.

David Kauff (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings to gain credit for the victory.

Scott Grant gave Albion a quality start on the mound, allowing two earned runs over eight innings.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.

The College is continuing to raise funds in support of both projects. To learn more, call 517/629-0446 or email advancement@albion.edu.
