LAKELAND, Fla. – The Albion College bats warmed up Tuesday afternoon, but the Britons walked off Henley Field with a 15-14 loss in 10 innings to New Jersey City University.
The Britons collected a whopping 22 hits, forcing New Jersey City to use eight pitchers.
It was a game featuring wild swings of momentum.
Shortstop Nick Logatto's grand slam powered New Jersey City to a five-run first inning.
Albion was unable to hold the lead as New Jersey City plated three run in its half of the fourth and tacked on two runs in the eighth and ninth.
Arszulowicz finished the day 5-for-6 with four runs scored. Stesiak was 4-for-6 with a run and two RBI. Wyman was 4-for-6 with three triples, two runs and four RBI. Joe Turnbull and Frieswyk added two hits apiece.
Logatto's grand slam was his only hit, but he drove in five runs for New Jersey City.
Albion returns to Auburndale, Fla., Thursday for a 5 o'clock game against Rhodes (Tenn.) College.
