Finney, Turnbull Finish Among Baseball Single-Season Leaders

ANGOLA, Ind. – Jordyn Finney, Shane Lindemann, Riley Stesiak, Joe Turnbull and Jack Wyman all hit .444 or better Sunday as the Albion College baseball team completed its season with 12-10 and 15-14 losses in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader at Trine University.

Finney, the Britons first-year designated hitter from Oxford, Mich., went 5-for-9 with a double, two homeruns, six RBI and four runs scored. He finished the season with 40 RBI, matching R.J. Fabian for third on Albion's single-season list.

Turnbull, the sophomore shortstop from Lake Orion, Mich., went 6-for-11 with three doubles, two homeruns, four RBI and four runs scored. He collected 57 hits and slugged 17 doubles this season, placing him second on Albion's single season list in both categories. His .500 on base percentage places him in a tie for seventh on the program's single season list.

Lindemann, the senior outfielder from Valencia, Calif., hit .500 (5-for-10) with a double, a RBI and four runs scored.

Stesiak, the first-year third baseman from South Bend, Ind., and Wyman, a junior first baseman and pitcher from Bloomfield Hills, both hit .444 (4-for-9). Stesiak hit a double and two homeruns for a 1.222 slugging percentage on the day. Wyman produced three doubles and three RBI.

Wyman finished the season with 13 extra-base hits (seven doubles, a triple and five homeruns) for a .518 slugging percentage.

Albion finished the season 15-24 overall and 8-20 in games against MIAA rivals.

Game One

Albion scored seven times in the sixth to pull within one, 11-10. Trine tacked on an insurance run in its half of the sixth, and Albion went down in order in the seventh. Logan Priebe delivered a two-run single as part of the Briton rally in the sixth.

Game Two

Finney slammed a pair of two-run homeruns for Albion, but Trine rallied for nine runs in the final two innings, scoring five times in the eighth and four more in the ninth.
