Bluffton Scores Late To Top Albion

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Bluffton University scored five times in its last two at bats to pull away for a 7-3 victory over Albion College in a non-league baseball game Tuesday afternoon .

Most of the runs came with two out in the inning. Blake Fox and Colin Gregory laced RBI singles with two out in the seventh, and Austin Prosser drove in two runs when he slugged a double with two out in the eighth.

James Spilko's RBI double in the second boosted Albion to the early lead.

The Britons forged a 2-2 tie when Jack Wyman knocked a RBI single in the sixth. Albion pushed to seize the lead later in the inning, but Wyman was thrown out at home after Ronnie Williams doubled.

Williams collected three of Albion's 10 hits. Justin Dennis produced two hits.

On deck for Albion (7-4 overall) is the opening weekend of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association competition. The Britons are scheduled to start a four-game series with Kalamazoo College with a 1 o'clock Saturday doubleheader at the new Champions Stadium at Frank Joranko Field.
