Britons Complete Undefeated Run In Florida

SANFORD, Fla. – It will be a happy bus ride home for the Albion College baseball team after the Britons dispatched Muskingum (Ohio) University, 8-0, to complete an undefeated week in Florida and spring break at 6-2.

Scott Grant and Steven Scott combined on the five-hit shutout. Grant, a first-year pitcher from Orchard Lake St. Mary, scattered five hits and two walks over six innings A two-out error in the seventh gave Muskingum its only baserunner against Scott, who struck out three.

"The pitching staff did a great job all trip of forcing contact and limiting freebies," Head Coach Scott Carden said.

Albion touched Muskie starter Bryce Husted for three runs over the first two innings. Ronnie Williams rapped a RBI single in the first and Shane Lindemann brought in two with a double down the left field line in the second.

Albion added three in the sixth and two in the eighth to pull away.

Williams collected three hits and Lindemann, Justin Dennis, Jordyn Finney, James Spilko and Joe Turnbull all had two to pace Albion's 14-hit attack.

"Today was our most complete ball game as we excelled in all phases," Carden said.
