Britons Baseball Wins Third Straight

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Albion College pounced on Penn State-Abington for six runs in the second and it added two more in the seventh to earn an 8-5 victory in spring break baseball action at Chain of Lakes Stadium.

Riley Stesiak and Ronnie Williams both collected three hits, including doubles, Jordyn Finney delivered three runs batted in, and James Spilko added two RBI.

Albion took advantage of two Abington errors in the second inning. Joe Turnbull drew a one-out walk and Stesiak and Justin Green followed with singles to load the bases. Spilko was credited with his RBI when Turnbull and Stesiak scored on a ground ball that was booted by the third baseman. Finney hit a two-run single later in the inning.

Abington scored twice in the third and fourth and once in the fifth to cut the lead to 6-5.

Finney drove in a RBI with a sacrifice fly in the seventh and Stesiak's double brought Logan Priebe around to score.

Pitchers David Kauff, Andrew Fabry and Patrick O'Brien did not allow an earned run in 5 1/3 innings of relief. Kauff got credit for the win, the first of his collegiate career, and O'Brien picked up his first save of the season.

Albion, winners of three in a row to improve to 4-2, is scheduled to take on Rensselaer at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex in Auburndale tomorrow.
