Fischbach Finishing Strong

HOLLAND, Mich. – Logan Priebe and Steven Marowski drove in two runs apiece in the ninth inning, but Albion College was unable to rally from five runs down in falling, 6-5, to Hope College in the second game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader.

Game One

Hope scored four times in the sixth to pull away for a 7-0 victory.

Ryan Konkle hit a two-run single as Hope took the early lead in the second. Michael Barnett added a RBI in the fifth, and Luke Brower, Danny Carrasco and Nick Glowacki produced the RBI in the sixth.

Albion had scoring chances early in the game. Shane Lindemann hit a single and Ben Gehan walked as the first two batters reached in the first inning, but they were stranded as the next three batters struck out. Priebe hit a two-out double in the second.

Game Two

Michael Fischbach went 4 for 4 with a homerun to lead off the fourth inning.

Konkle provided the response for Hope with a homerun in the bottom half of the inning.

Luke Brower hit a RBI double in the sixth and he drew a bases loaded walk in the seventh. Landon Brower also drew a bases loaded walk in the seventh.

Albion's first four batters reached base in the ninth, and the Britons had the tying run on base with one out.

Albion and Hope will complete the four-game series with a 1 o'clock Saturday doubleheader at Frank Joranko Field.
