ALBION, Mich. – Albion College stranded the winning run in scoring position in the seventh inning of a 3-2 loss in game one as it was swept by Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association baseball doubleheader at Frank Joranko Field.
The Scots took a 7-4 victory in the nightcap.
Game One
Trailing 3-0, Albion picked up a run in the sixth on Shane Lindeman's two-out single to score Ben Gehan.
Albion got one-out singles by Michael Fischbach, Steven Marowski and Spencer Bonofiglio in the seventh. Bonofiglio's hit cut the deficit to 3-2 as pinch-runner TJ Bowers scored. Albion loaded the bases as Gehan drew a walk with two out, but a called third strike ended the game.
Mitch Lasceski and Jack Wyman produced two hits apiece for the Britons.
Doug Walters singled, walked and drove in a run for Alma. Dayne San Miguel lifted a sacrifice fly for a RBI for the Scots.
Game Two
Alma scored four times in the first and never trailed. Lindemann hit a two-run double as Albion cut the deficit to 5-3 in the fourth and Fischbach hit his third homerun of the season to make the score 6-4 in the fifth.
Fischbach finished with two hits, a walk and two RBI. Lindemann and Marowski also collected two hits apiece.

Olivet is the opponent for Albion's next MIAA series. The action begins Saturday with a 1 o'clock doubleheader at Albion's Frank Joranko Field.
