Bowers Powers Albion Past Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio – TJ Bowers, the No. 9 batter in the order, collected four hits and four RBI to lead Albion College to a 9-4 victory over Bluffton University in non-league baseball action.

Bowers, who had two RBI in six games prior to Tuesday, clubbed a two-run homerun in the second and a two-run single in the sixth.

Jack Wyman drove in two runs with a triple in the sixth and Shane Lindemann hit a two-run single in the seventh.

The Britons sent five pitchers to the mound. Matt Temrowski started. He allowed an unearned run on four hits over two innings. Zach Maresh got credit for the victory, allowing a run on two hits and two walks in two innings. Andrew Fabry threw two scoreless innings, Patrick O'Brien allowed a run on two hits in two innings of work and Wyman pitched in the ninth.

On deck for Albion is its first four-game series of the season against a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival. The Britons are scheduled to travel to Kalamazoo College on Friday for a 2 o'clock doubleheader against the Hornets.
