Fischbach, Lindemann Collect Two Hits In Baseball Loss

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – Albion College could not get a shutdown inning after taking a 4-3 lead in the seventh and it went on to take an 8-4 loss to local rival Spring Arbor University in non-league baseball action.

Michael Fischbach hit a double down the left field line to bring Shane Lindemann around to score in Albion's half of the seventh.

Spring Arbor forged a tie when JP Maracani drew a bases loaded walk and it seized the lead for good when Jeremiah Johnson hit a two-run single.

Jack Wyman hit a RBI single and Justin Dennis contributed a sacrifice fly as Albion tied the score at 3 in the sixth.

Lindemann and Fischbach collected two hits apiece.

Steven Scott started on the mound for the Britons. He was charged with one earned run on two hits and two walks over four innings. Patrick O'Brien threw two scoreless innings of relief.

Albion returns to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association action with a Saturday doubleheader at Alma College. The Britons next home doubleheader is a 1 o'clock Sunday date against Alma.
