Lindemann, Williams Finish With Two Hits Apiece

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Hillsdale College had only two more hits than Albion College Wednesday, but the Chargers clubbed two home runs and a double to hand the Britons an 8-2 setback.

Albion loaded the bases with one out in the second and it came away with two runs as Justin Dennis drew a walk and Shane Lindemann singled.

Albion's lead held up until Hillsdale put up three runs in the third when Connor Bartlett sent a two-run homer over the right field fence and Chris McDonald launched a solo shot to left-center.

Hillsdale padded the lead with four runs in the fourth. Nolan Breymaier started the inning with a double and Alex Walts was hit by a pitch. Breymaier scored on an error, Bartlett and Tad Sobieszczanski produced RBI singles and Ryan O'Hearn scored on a balk.

Hillsdale scored its final run in the seventh.

Lindemann and Ronnie Williams III collected two hits apiece as Albion finished the day with six singles.

Relief pitchers Steven Scott and Patrick O'Brien combined to pitch three scoreless innings.

On deck for Albion is a four-game weekend series against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Trine University. The teams will meet for a 1 o'clock Sunday doubleheader at Albion's Frank Joranko Field.
