Britons Complete Winning Spring Break Trip

LAKELAND, Fla. – Craig Conway punched out nine over seven shutout innings as Albion College completed its spring break trip with a 8-2 victory over Wittenberg University.

Conway worked out of jams with two runners on base in the fourth and seventh innings. He got the final two batters to strikeout in the seventh.

Albion scored two runs in four different innings.

Steven Marowski drew a bases loaded walk and Spencer Bonofiglio lifted a sacrifice fly in the third; Michael Fischbach slugged a two-run triple in the fifth; Kyle Kowal produced a RBI single and Ben Crawford stole home in the sixth; and Mitch Lasceski scored on an error and Chase Carpenter scored on a wild pitch in the seventh.

Lasceski produced two of Albion's six hits in the game.

Albion finished the spring break trip with a 5-2 record. On deck for the Britons is the home opener, a 4 p.m. Tuesday non-league date against Bluffton University.
