Albion College is a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Assocation (MIAA) and NCAA Division III. The equestrian hunt seat team is affiliated with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

Albion's football program has won more Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships (35) and made more NCAA postseason appearances (10) than any other Division III school in Michigan. Albion claimed the 1994 NCAA Division III football national championship.
Albion has advanced a male or female runner to the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship every year since 2010.
Since 2004, Briton athletes have been selected as first-team All-Americans in men's basketball, football, men's and women's swimming and diving, and men's track and field.
The men's swimming team captured the MIAA championship in 2017, setting the highest score in the league's championship meet since it adopted the 16-deep scoring format in 2009. Albion advanced 10 members of the team to the NCAA Division III Championships, finishing 13th.
In men's lacrosse, Albion has captured MIAA titles in each of the last three years. The Britons have six MIAA MVP awards and three United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Honorable Mention All-Americans in those three seasons
The equestrian hunt seat program, regional champions in 2014, sent two riders to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's Zone Finals in 2017.
The Briton men's track & field program has won 32 conference championships, while the women's team has sent individuals to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in each of the last two years.
Briton baseball leads the MIAA in league championships with 30. Since 2006, the Britons have produced the league's batting champion twice and two of the league's MVPs.
The women's tennis team has won at least a share of the league championship six of the past 13 years, including 2011.
Twelve Britons (men and women) have been named NCAA Postgraduate Scholars.
Thirteen Albion squads (women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, softball, volleyball, women's basketball, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, and indoor and outdoor women's track & field) achieved MIAA Team GPA Awards for achieving a 3.3 GPA or better during the 2015-16 academic year.
The Albion athletic department was named an Award of Merit winner by the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators/Jostens Community Service Award program for the 2015-16 academic year. Albion student-athletes logged more than 3,300 hours of community service during that year.
