Albion College placed 159 student-athletes on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Academic Honor Roll for achieving at least a 3.5 grade point average for both semesters and lettering in their respective sport during the 2016-2017 academic year.
Thirteen Britons – Julia Anderson (softball), Bobby Budlong (men's soccer), Lauren Cross (women's soccer), Andrew DiFranco (football), Zach Hubbell (men's lacrosse), Aurora Lobatos (women's track & field), Angela Morrison (women's track & field), Andrew Prince (men's soccer), Olivia Savage (women's basketball), Cameron Schmidt (women's soccer), Stephanie Thurner (volleyball), Kelly Wright (women's soccer), and Jason Zahran (men's basketball) – achieved special distinction for being placed on the academic honor roll all four years.
In addition to the individual awards, 12 Albion squads qualified for the league's Team GPA Award by compiling a 3.3 GPA. The women's tennis team, coached by Kacie Zuck, led the way with a 3.68 team GPA and it has earned MIAA Team GPA Awards 18 of the last 19 years.
The women's golf team, coached by Jordan McArleton, and men's tennis team, also coached by Zuck, achieved GPAs of 3.6 or better.
The men's golf, men's soccer, volleyball, women's basketball, women's indoor and outdoor track & field, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, and women's swimming & diving teams also achieved the distinction.
