Markell McCoy rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries as the Albion football team opened the season with a 56-6 victory over Defiance College.
As a result, McCoy is ninth in the first release of NCAA Division III statistics for the season.
His performance led to his selection as Albion’s student-athlete spotlight of the week.
Football receiver Kolby Canfield, football linebacker Donovan Slates and cross country runner Kiehl Smith were also nominated.
